The paper examines the role that social franchising has in expanding reproductive health and HIV services for youth. It reviews the literature and research on social franchising and analyzes how different models have been applied to meet the specific needs of youth. The report examines five case studies in detail and assesses how well they apply social franchising techniques, such as promotion, training, quality assurance and cost-recovery. It also synthesizes key lessons learned in the field and offers useful guidance on better serving the needs of youth through franchising.
