Nepal Social Marketing and Franchise Project: AIDS, Reproductive Health and Child Survival (N-MARC)

USAID’s overall purpose in using social marketing and franchising in Nepal is to expand products and services with high public health impact to low socio-economic populations. N-MARC’s mission is to team with the private health sector in the “social marketing” of products and “social franchising” of services that will achieve public health impact among low socio-economic class populations. With funding of US $11.2 million over 3.5 years, N-MARC will form public-partnerships that will develop and expand the reach of health products and services that will include condoms, long and short-term family planning methods, diarrhea treatment products, and pre-packaged therapy for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
