Improvement of Medical Equipment in Public Hospitals (PPP)

The Christian Social Service Commission (CSSC) supports the provision of public health care services offered by church-run hospitals. Technologie Transfer Marburg (TTM) has been exporting medical technology and technical services for 20 years and aims to increase its already large customer base in Tanzania. TTM and CSSC intend to join forces and found a company. The aims of this commercial enterprise are to provide technical maintenance services in the field of medical technology and to market and sell medical technology and supplies. Another aim is to attract international donors through a well-balanced concept that combines investment in medical technology with sales of technical equipment. It is anticipated that investment will increase and that there will be a greater demand for consulting and support services. This kind of service provider can advise on medical technology, thus enabling hospitals to keep up with developments and to acquire the equipment they need. Improved repair and maintenance services will also increase the life-span of investments in this area.
