USAID's PSP-One project, led by Abt Associates, hosted an Expert Panel Event at the Global Health Council's 33rd Annual International Conference on Global Health, "Excellence, Innovation, and Influence: Pathways to Results" held in Washington D.C.
Held on May 30, 2006, the PSP-One project's Expert Panel, “Expanding Health Service Access and Provider Choice in Developing Countries: The Role of the Private Sector” consisted of three panel discussions: Effective Strategies for Improving Equity and Access Through the Private Sector, Pubic/Private Interface: Effective Strategies for Improving Quality, and Perspectives on the Private Sector.
Representatives from organizations such as USAID, the Center for Global Development, KFW, the World Bank, Abt Associates, Boston University CIHD, Population Services International and the Gates Foundation discussed options to ensure quality of and access to private health services in the developing world.
